Faculty of Arts & Design – Web Design (University)

LOS ANDES UNIVERSITY, VENEZUELA. 2008

I developed personal interest in Web Design while studying my first module at university, because of it was approached by the Faculty of Arts & Graphic Design director and other teachers to discuss about the possibility of creating a website to provide academic information, events updates, news and resources that would benefit all the community, current and new students. Also to have a website to engage with young people looking for career opportunities so they could find all the related information about the courses offered in the faculty.

Overview

This project took almost two years to
complete, from research, collecting the
content from all the involved teachers to
design and development of the website.
It was a great experience to be the Art
Director and Designer but must say it
was hard work to come up with a design
proposal that the main teachers involved
would agree on, it is very difficult to
design for even more experienced
designers but at the end we all agreed
on an idea to sign off so I could move on
to the developments of the back and
front end of the site.

For me it was a huge privilege to be
involved on the creation of website for
the Faculty of Arts and Graphic Design
for one of the main Universities in
Venezuela (Universidad de Los Andes).

Goals

To create the web presence for the
Faculty of Arts and Graphic Design and
provide a platform to share events, news
and all the academic information related
to courses and the faculty organization.
This website would create interest
among the community, from teachers to
students and also general public or
those individuals looking for career
opportunities.
